Monsters Of Rock 4 certainly lived up to it's name and
reputation! It rocked the very foundation of the once again again SOLD
OUT Hi Fi Bar & Ballroom! The full house in attendance will lay testament
to that.
From the get go there was something in the air. From the massive queue
which trailed a good portion down Swanston Street, to the very last pyrotechnical
explosions which culminated in an awesome KISStroyer guitar smashing finale.
We belted out 90 minutes of KISS classics, spanning nearly the entire
KISS repoitoir and the crowd was into it every step of the way.
Set list for the evening was:
Detroit Rock City
Deuce
Shout It Out Loud
Dr. Love
Love Gun
Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll
Firehouse (with an amazing fire breathing display by Danny)
Shock Me (featuring a jaw dropping smoking guitar solo from Andrew)
I Love It Loud
God Of Thunder
I Was Made For Lovin' You
New York Groove
Black Diamond
God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You II
Rock 'n' Roll All Nite
We also unveiled our new stage which included fully functional light up
stair cases and amp racks. Add this to the huge functional light up KISS
logo, a massive pyrotechnical display and confetti shower (supplied proudly
and professionally by Melbourne Fireworks) and the unveiling of the exotic
Paul Stanley Apocalypse encrusted in Swarovski Crystals and another brilliant
light up guitar for Ace (this time it’s the UFO sparkle top) - well, need
we say any more! Look out for online photos (by CK Photoshop) and awesome
concert video footage (by Craig Broderick) very soon. These are ones you
will not want to miss.
A huge thank you goes out to our partners in crime on the evening: Appetite
For Destruction, Bad Medicine, The Deadthings, Thunderstruck and War Pigs.
Your professionalism and patience whilst the staging and pyrotechnics
set up was amazing!
Apologies go out to all the hard rock and KISStroyer fans who missed out
on seeing the show due to doors being locked so early on in the night.
We were disappointed to hear that some who traveled quite some distance
were unable to see the spectacle, but it is in the interest of safety
that the numbers are capped.
Keep rockin' and see ya soon!
It's been a while since we've updated the news page
and that's mainly because the band has been busy pumping out show after
show and tour after tour.
To say the least 2006 has been another eventful year:
- The band appeared live on Triple M’s Shebang segment performing "Rock
'n' Roll All Nite" acoustically which was preceded by Andrew being interviewed
with Marty and Fi Fi.
- The band completed a successful tour of Queensland - such was the success
that the band and management are already in negotiation for a 2007 tour.
Whilst on tour our Starchild, Matt, featured on the front page of the
Sunshine Coast Daily.
- KISStroyer secured a new endorsement deal with Basson. This is the same
company which proudly represents the likes of Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue)
and a number of other major artists. Basson make the most amazing speaker
cabinets in the world and are shortly releasing their range of guitar
and bass amplifiers as well!
Currently we are in preparation for the annual "Monsters Of Rock" event
in Melbourne. This year we are bring in a new stage and our largest indoor
pyrotechnical display which is sure to impress all in attendance!
Fans of the band often comment about the amazing guitars that we us in
our shows. As a result we are currently compiling a plethora of live shots
which feature all the guitars our arsenal. These will shortly be online
shortly in the Bio section of our site. Speaking of guitars, there will
also be a few new guitars making their debut at "Monsters Of Rock 4",
they are sure to impress and make nice additions to the band's massive
array of authentic KISS guitars.
Speaking of "Monsters Of Rock", the fantastic people of Tasmania and Canberra
will both be treated to their very own "Monsters Of Rock" events in 2007!
Check our date page for more information on these events.
There is also a massive New Years Eve show coming up in an event that
generally attracts 10,000+ revelers each year in Swan Hill - for those
of you without plans already why not come along and rock 'n' roll all
nite into the new year with KISStroyer!
We would like to thank everyone who turned up to Ruby's
Lounge last night, we had a blast on stage! It was fantastic to see quite
a number of new faces in the crowd going crazy alongside the KISStroyer
faithful. Speaking of which, we must thank those who traveled quite some
distance to see the show last night. It's quite humbling and flattering
to step on stage and see people from the other side of town standing front
row, dead center - thank you guys! You know who you are!
With such a vocal crowd it's hard to end the show but on the flip side
it means that we have the chance to catch up with everyone to express
our thanks for such great support. The reasons we play are because we
enjoy playing live and we love KISS. Having people give us the love and
support we receive makes the labor of putting on a show seem like a breeze.
Shortly we will have new photos on our site after some long delays, with
a few being from last night.
It has been just over a month since KISS fans and KISStroyer
rocked the foundations of the Hi Fi Bar in Melbourne to show their support
for the recognition of KISS' right to be included in the Rock 'n' Roll
All Of Fame in America. Since then DVD footage from the night has been
edited to be screened at the upcoming march that will take place in Cleveland
on August 5th 2006.
Recently an interview has appeared online with Paul Carpenter whom is
leading the KISS Army in their assault on the Hall Of Fame. In the interview
he thanks those who have pitched in and helped out in getting the voice
of the KISS Army heard worldwide.
We were honoured to have taken place in helping the Australian KISS Army
have their collective voices heard at the Hi Fi show we held. The night
was an great success and an extremely vocal crowd has certainly got their
message across to America!
For those who haven't seen the interview here is a link to one of the
many sites with a copy of it: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art30794.asp
Photos from the huge KISStroyer show in Melbourne over
the weekend are now available online via the Rock
Vizion website. We thank Graeme Plenter from Rock Vizion for sharing
his photos with everyone so quickly.
Shortly we will have photos from the show in our galleries courtesey of
CK Photoshop.
A number of people have been in touch with us in relation
to the scheduled interview and performance on Triple M's Shebang last
Friday. As many people noticed the segment did not air, which was due
to some technical issues behind the scenes.
We have been assured by the station that the intverview and performance
will be aired this Friday, May 19, on the Shebang which is broadcast between
4pm and 6pm.
In the meantime the interview and performance can also be downloaded from
our site here
and will shortly appear on our press page as well.
As a leadup to the huge KISStroyer show at the Hi Fi
Bar & Ballroom on June 10 the band will be performing a KISS song unplugged
on Triple M's Shebang radio show on Friday May 12th. Catch the boys bewteen
4pm and 6pm tomorrow for a taste of what's to come in little under a month
from today!
KISStroyer also got one of the best - a crowd of over
2,000 locals (many of which were adorned in KISS make up), a pyrotechnical
display which would rival an actual KISS show and a tour organiser who
went to the absolute finest detail to ensure the band's stay in the southern
most part of our country was not only easy but also very comfortable.
A huge thank you goes out to Nick and Shannon!
Thanks largely to an amazing advertising campaign which consisted of TV,
radio and large ads in major papers there was much talk around town of
the KISStroyer show. It seemed everyone knew about it in some way, shape
or form. Couple this with the amazing War Pigs kicking off proceedings
and the evening was always going to be a success. There was even talk
on the radio the day after the show discussing everything from the show
itself to reported UFO sightings above the showgrounds as the band was
playing!
Look out for articles, press releases, photos and video clips online very
soon. Until then you can visit www.rockvizion.com.au,
where renowned photographer Graeme Plenter is currently displaying his
impressive photos from the show capturing both bands in their full glory.
Graeme has photographed the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Lenny Kravitz, Nickelback,
U2, INXS, Green Day and Motley Crue (and not to mention the fact he's
a top guy!).
