It's always interesting to reflect and look back on where you've been. Although it's important to focus on the future and where you are going, looking back ensures you learn from your mistakes. To see KISStroyer in action, to watch them take to the stage, each show you find yourself watching as they progressively evolve into their respective personas. From humble beginings to huge shows in less than a year.

"You guys were cool and professional - two thumbs up"...Bruce Kulick - Ex KISS lead guitarist

2001 was a huge year for KISS in Australia. Especially in Australia's KISS capitol, Melbourne. Three sold out nights of pure rock 'n' roll had countless people screaming for more. Never had Australia been treated to a KISS show that were so spectacular. Without a doubt there were many who had lived out their dreams in seeing KISS live that year. For two people in particular the shows were an event that would ultimately be seen as the begining of their dreams.

Fresh from the high of the KISS concerts and feeling the urge to get back into live music Stephen and Andrew decided to head down to local rehearsal studios to remember old times. The first session was productive, and although the brothers covered a wide range of material they found themselves continually draw back to KISS - the seed had been planted.

In the following two months the search was on for the remaining two members that would be needed to complete the lineup. Auditions were proving to be fruitless with a number of candidates not making the grade. It would seem as though all hope had been lost.

As fate would have it Steve was driving around town one day and happened to pass a car that featured a flyer requesting the skills of a drummer for an up and coming KISS tribute band. After catching up with the car and getting the driver to pull over Steve introduced himself to the owner of the car and managed to convince him to leave his current band and hook up with Steve and his brother. The decision was made and a date was set - it was time for Daniel to jam with the boys.

The session was a success with the trio falling comfortably into place and producing some tight music. The greatest challenge was now at hand - a Paul Stanley was still required. After further audtions and phone calls the trio were in trouble and were one man short of a KISS tribute band.

Two months passed by with no success and it was around this period when Daniel recalled that the drummer from his last band also played guitar, and played it well. A phone call was made and a time was set for the first jam. It was the jam that turned out to be the begining of the band. Matthew was in, and KISStroyer now had a Paul Stanley.

"I was more excited by the fact that KISStroyer would be doing another after party than seeing KISS themselves!"

Georgia - KISStroyer Fan

The group rehearsed for 3 months solid before deciding it was time to hold their first show. It was to be run from the ground up by the band. PA systems, drum risers, staging, lighting effects and advertising was all done by the band themselves. It was always going to be something special.

Needless to say, the show was a smash with over 250 people in attendance and the rest, as they say, is KISStory...
